About Adele

Adele’s interest in photography began during holidays to Scotland, capturing fleeting moments in time were memories of a fabulous week away in the stunning Highlands of Scotland to look back on & share with family & friends. Scotland became a place of rest, relaxation, inspiration & creativity and sparked a desire to learn more about photography.

Previously employed full time as a HR Advisor meant that time was limited but also precious. The busy, fast pace of life was in stark contrast to the quiet peaceful feeling at sunrise or sunset, being out in nature enjoying a sense of calm. Photography became more than just heading out with the camera to practice, it became a release from the every day, a way of dealing with personal challenges and taught her an appreciation, almost opening her eyes to a very different way of life. The combination of having a creative outlet and finding a sense of peace became something that she craved at every opportunity.

A particular interest in ND filters & long exposures felt magical and exciting, eventually leading to a passion for coastal & seascape photography. Having focused on this genre of photography for many years, Adele still feels most at home on a beach enjoying all that the coast has to offer from the roaring waves at high tide to interesting patterns and shapes etched into the sands during low tide. In all weathers, all seasons and at any time of day.

Adele relocated to the Outer Hebrides in 2023 to be surrounded by the landscape & coast that inspires her the most and to enjoy more quality time for photography. Leaving behind a career was daunting but choosing a lifestyle that allows more time for photography, creativity and a different way of life feels more rewarding and self-fulfilling.

Aside from photography Adele enjoy visiting exhibitions, poetry, music and walking her three dogs, Bonnie, Belle & Skye.

Adele was delighted to be recognised in the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2024 being awarded Highly Commended with Hear Me Roar, a seascape image from the Isle of Harris.

Always learning, feeling inspired, sharing and celebrating others.

Adele’s Work

Adele’s paper of choice:

PermaJet FB Distinction 320 is a fibre based inkjet paper with a subtle gloss surface and bright white base tint. Reminiscent of traditional darkroom materials, this baryta paper prints with exceptional detail, Dmax and tonal range. The gloss surface has a delicate sheen that elevates photographs and artwork.

Create bold, punchy prints that stand out on the bright white Alpha Cellulose base, adding life to colours and creating contrast. The deep blacks and wide tonal range make FB Distinction 320 a great choice for high contrast monochrome work, or colour images that would benefit from an enhanced base tint to really stand out and create impact.
