About Gabriel
I have been a member of the Irish Photographic Federation since 1994. I am a serving committee member of the Irish Photographic Federation and I also sit on the Federations adjudication panel at Licentiateship, Associateship and Fellowship levels.
I achieved an ARPS distinction with a Monochrome Portrait panel in 2006. I was also awarded a Fellowship from the Irish Photographic Federation for a travel panel, shot in Vietnam in 2008. In 2010 I was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society for a panel on old abandoned Irish homesteads. In 2011 I gained the distinction of Master FIAP from the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique.
More recently I have started back on the FIAP salon trail and I am currently working towards my EFIAP/platinum.
I enjoy all aspects of photography but my favourite discipline is to photograph people. Landscape and creative photography are always a constant lure, but whatever the subject may be, the printed image is always the final goal. There is no greater satisfaction than to see your final edit printed on your favourite PermaJet paper, mounted and ready for presentation.
I am a member of Drogheda Photographic Club one of Irelands premier clubs. There I take part in monthly competitions and exhibitions and also get to enjoy visiting lecturers, often from the UK. I continue to enjoy Judging and giving talks to camera clubs across Ireland, the UK and beyond.
